Life offered me the possibility to express my self through my hands, giving my thoughts a tangible form. As a kid growing up in Bolivia, I always had a keen eye in finding inaccuracies in the very few toys that I had; I modified them to make it look more realistic, but more often I made my own unique toys. The same thing will be applied to my career as a mechanical engineer, I improved existing machines, but more often, I designed new ones.

In 2000, I discovered my abilities as a sculptor, and very soon, I found myself studying in detail the living forms that so much I love. When my first bronze sculpture (Tantor) emerged from my hands, it opened a new an exiting path in front of me, path that I did not hesitate to take.

As a full time sculptor, I find a great joy in portraying these magnificent God’s creations in the most accurate possible way. My fascination with motion is expressed through my art by capturing their dynamic lives in poses that come within my heart.

Seven years ago, I started sculpting African wildlife, then I explore contemporary art as well as the human form, in 2008, I was commissioned a memorial for WWII Mexican American veterans (Bas-relief depicting Mexican American soldiers crossing the Rio Rapid, Italy, 1944).

I portray big things in a small scale, by reversing my way of thinking, I am amusing my self by rediscovering a new and fascinating world in front of me.

Amongst my interests and the love for the outdoors, I am a former private pilot, enjoy modeling scale airplanes and belong to the El Paso, IPMS (International Plastic Model Society), I have won several national and local awards at the society conventions.

Art is not art without the public. It is the purpose of art to engage people’s imagination. Through this engagement, people can find within them wonder and respect for the many forms of life on the planet. Herein lays the beginning of stewardship.
